Cats love to eat grass, and it’s actually quite good for them, too, providing essential nutrients and aiding with digestion. Purchasing pre-grown cat grass can get expensive, so I’ve been looking for ways to grow my own cat grass so the furkids can have a continuous supply of fresh, organic cat grass to munch on.
Here’s an easy all-in-one cat grass growing kit from Rocket Cats. You get an attractive, leak-proof container and 100% organic seeds and soil. Simply put it all together, give it some water, and in a few days yout cats will have a lovely salad to enjoy.
The Rocket Cats Cat Grass Garden Kit is available from Amazon for $9.97, and you can purchase refill kits
for $5.99.
And sad to say that I can get the same thing fresh (with no shipping and handling) at my local grocery store for under $2.00. (My kitties say a cat dish works just as well as a fancy container.)
Thanks for the information about the cat grass. Perhaps I’m just not informed and, as Debbie says, I can find the same or a similar product at my local grocery store, but I feel I need some guidance and an easy way to do this indoors in the winter. Thanks again!
I’ve only seen cat grass for sale at Petsmart and I think it’s around $5 for a small container, which seems expensive to me, especially since it lasts about 2 hours in my house. I REALLY don’t have a green thumb, but as I test some of these indoor cat grass growing products I’ll let you know what I learn.
Whichever way you do it, cat grass is a sure success with the felines! And Kate, I’m not a prize-winning gardener either, but you don’t have to be, to grow cat grass from seeds. Happy planting — and happy munching, Ando and crew 🙂
For awhile, I got cat grass seeds at our outdoor market, and the reason for that was the vendor told me it was “non-puking” cat grass, and she was right. I will order from Rocket Cats Cat Grass and give that a try as she no longer comes to the market. I feel better getting cat grass from cat people.
