Here at Hauspanther we love cats. And we mean REALLY love cats (we kind of worship them). We also love design, of all kinds – interior design, architecture, product design, graphic design, art, fashion—all of it. Hauspanther features the latest design finds, tailored specifically for those who share our love of cats.
But Hauspanther isn’t just about cool looking stuff. Our greater mission is to spread the word about how good design can enhance the way we live with cats, improving our lives and the lives of our beloved feline companions. By paying attention to the design of objects and environments, we can create living spaces that accommodate the natural instincts of cats – keeping them happy, healthy and well behaved – without compromising our own sense of style and comfort.
Stay up to date on our latest design finds by subscribing to our email updates. Browse through our archives, as well as our Gear Guide, to find ideas and inspiration for your own home. Beware: we sometimes feature high-end designer products with outrageous prices. These items are meant to inspire you to create your own unique design elements that accommodate your cats (and your budget). We’d love to see what you come up with, so please submit your projects!
In addition to our online magazine, Hauspanther designs and manufactures our own line of unique, handmade products including toys, beds, scratchers and décor items. Visit the Hauspanther store to see our latest offerings.

In 2007, Kate Benjamin was searching for stylish products for her own cats. She couldn’t find a comprehensive source on the topic, so she started blogging at Moderncat.net, gathering her finds for design-conscious cat people. Over the years, the design-loving cat community grew and Kate became known as the go-to source for anything related to cats and design. In 2009, Kate launched her own line of handmade cat products under the name Moderncat Studio. The high-quality beds, scratchers, and toys have been making cats happy around the world ever since.
Kate has been interviewed for the New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, People Pets, and the popular home design blog Apartment Therapy. She was also mentioned in Julia Szabo’s 2009 book Pretty Pet-Friendly and featured on CBS Sunday Morning. Kate also makes guest appearances on Animal Planet’s My Cat From Hell with her “Catification” partner, cat behaviorist Jackson Galaxy.
In 2013, Kate launched Hauspanther, bringing all of her passions together and taking everything to a new level. Kate lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her eleven fabulous felines, plus a twelfth furry family member who resides at the Hauspanther design studio in downtown Phoenix.
