Here’s a new pet drinking fountain that uses some interesting technology to keep water fresh and clean for your cat! It’s the NatureSPA Pet Fountain from American Valley Pet and it’s got some great features that I haven’t seen in a water fountain before.
Free Flowing Water Stream

The fountain is made of ABS plastic, a durable, high quality plastic that is human food grade and BPA free. You can purchase replacement charcoal filters (which should be changed every few weeks, depending on how many cats are using the fountain), an extra capacity reservoir that replaces the regular reservoir that comes with the fountain, and a spill mat to protect the surface under the fountain from any splashes.

If you have a unit that is not as quiet as it should be there a couple things to try. One is to be sure to flush the impeller cavity of the pump. Sometimes tiny particulates make there way into the pump and cause vibration hence noise. I have hard water and sometimes mineral deposits can cause this as well. Another trick is to put a drop of olive oil on the impeller spindle.

Thanks hauspanther for bringing this product to our attention. I guess I’m a little ahead of the curve as I purchased one of these units from AVP last year. Several of my friends had purchased the Drinkwell version of this product and found that their fountain required a rigorous maintenance schedule and their cats soon lost interest in actually drinking water from the bowl. It was back to dripping water from the sink. After much research I decided on the NatureSpa, liking the automatic shutoff feature and UV light filtration system for killing unwanted bacteria from the recirculating water. The final clincher was the blue led light that lightly glows after lights out in the evening. Fourteen months into this purchase my two cats are still drawn to the soft sound of the running water. I had a question early on about the placement of the charcoal filters and was pleased with the quick customer support. I work all day away from home and often have to travel for my work. My neighbor is kind enough to feed my cats when I am away and I’m glad to know that they are also getting plenty of water as I can check the reservoir (or my neighbor can) to monitor their water intake. In short, thumbs up for this pet fountain! I don’t worry about my cats near as much when I am away!
Such a fabulous looking fountain. I’ve been wanting to buy the Glacier Point Pet Fountain as I really want the healthiest water possible for the pets, but it is less than attractive. I love this fountain (much more attractive and UV sterilization is fabulous), but I wish it came in ceramic. I just won’t use plastic anymore. Hopefully a ceramic version will be introduced :).

I bought three with your coupon code and it was one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. We’ve had them over a month now and I couldn’t be happier. All of the cats drink out of the fountains now, though they were a bit hesitant at first. Since I have one cat with a severe tendency to urinary tract problems, this is quite literally a life saver for us. I’ve had two other brands of fountains before (expensive ones–well-known brands) and they can’t touch this fountain. It is definitely worth every penny–easy to take apart and clean compared to others, and I love the light and the auto-shutoff (yes, I’ve already needed it and it worked). I did have one problem that I contacted customer service about, and they were extremely helpful and quick to answer my email (my fountains started overflowing when I filled them. I found out that if the sponge filter–not the carbon one–is dirty, it blocks the water from doing what it’s supposed to. When I rinsed out the sponge, the problem was solved. This is not a major problem). By the way, if you have lots of animals or live in a dry climate, it’s definitely worth getting the extra-large reservoir. Anyway, thank you, Kate, for introducing me to this fountain (and to the manufacturer–I love it!!!!).
Apparently this company is no longer in service. The website is no longer available and the phone number I got from the above comments is no longer in service. Hhhmmmm. I guess I can’t ask questions about the product and looking for replacement parts. It’s a shame because I love the fountain and have had it for quite a few years.
Why use plastics at all?
You could have EASILY offered a STAINLESS STEEL product. Why go the cheap route?
People whom love their cats/dogs/ other pets like their children want the very BEST quality for them and I don’t care what you say about the plastic being safe, I don’t want plastic!
Please, just make your products either stainless steel or ceramic.
